Human development :

Much has been achieved on the human development front in recent years. Overall, people today are healthier, less impoverished and better educated than 15 years ago. These very tangible gains are largely due to important improvements in quality of life, such as: increased access to education, clean water, sanitation, vaccines and health care.

With these improvements, have come rising literacy rates, a narrowing gender gap and an increase in average per capita income.

Still, there remains much to be done. Despite the obvious success, we are living in an increasingly divided world where large numbers of people are still highly disadvantaged and living with great inequality.
