We have been present in Senegal since 1987, working in two areas: the peripheral urban area – PRM - (Pikine, Rufisque, Mbour) in the region of Dakar and the area of Kolda (Kolda, Vélingara) in the south of the country. After having invested a large amount of time in constructing school buildings (415 classrooms built), we are developing more and more programmes to improve access to education, to encourage diversification of the school programme, to reinforce the community’s role within the schools, but also and most importantly to improve the quality of teaching.
Training of teachers, putting in place 158 points selling school equipment, developing an different system in 23 basic Community schools, are many of the projects which have been developed to respond to basic schooling needs.
