We have been present in Rwanda since 1982 working in partnership with ActionAid and from 1985, working independently.
In the first part of 1994, the climate - fraught and unpredictable, - had all but frozen the work of the programme. Interrupted in April, activity began again in September. Since the end of 1995, in a traumatised country, out team has made a huge effort, in the areas where we have our programmes, to recreate favourable conditions for education. Unfortunately the number of these areas has had to be reduced for security reasons.
Since 1996, Aide et Action has been working in 14 districts. Thanks to renewed stability, today, we are beginning to redefine our objectives and our strategies appropriately.
