In France, the GCE gathers civil society organizations such as international solidarity associations, teachers’unions, movements for the defense of children’s rights etc...
The Education “Commission” of Coordination SUD
In 2005, Coordination SUD decided to set up the Education Commission on the issue of education, educative cooperation and the actions taken in this field by member organisations. The Education Commission has a central role: that of pleading its cause to public authorities at all scales (France, Europe and international organisations).
Coordination SUD conveys the message of Education on the occasion of other events organized by International Solidarity Organisations and beyond these, by those organised by the civil society.
It ensures the exchange of information between International Solidarity Oraganisations and other actors of the French civil society.
It helps civil society organisations to develop actions which aim at making the French educative cooperation evolve (better cooperation between NGOs and public authorities) to reach a better efficiency, equity and transparency.
It makes sure that the different steps taken in France within the GCE are harmonious in order to maximize its impact and to maintain the indispensable cohesion to its credibility.
Aide et Action, founder member of the Education Commission born within the Coordination SUD, has been conveying the GCE in France for 3 years now.
