Health education

  • 135 million children under 5 years of age suffer from malnutrition
  • 3.3 million children live with HIV/AIDS

Health and education are closely linked. While malnutrition handicaps children’s cognitive development, the very access to adequate nutrition, hygiene and basic health care significantly increases their chances of completing primary school. Moreover, education remains the best preventive action against major diseases and epidemics. That is why Aide et Action International lays an emphasis on information and sensitisation (of parents, but also the authorities, so that they incorporate health in the teaching-learning process), while implementing concrete means for prevention, in three priority areas: food security, health and hygiene, malaria and HIV/AIDS.
